Do Pineapples remove fingerprints?

Is it true that people that work with pineapples and pineapple juice regularly don't have any fingerprints?I heard some thing about it on QI so there most be some truth in it.Can anyone tell me if its true or anything about it please.When i cut up a pineapple it does seem to at least temperally fade my prints.If this is true why don't criminals leave there hands soaking in pineapple juice before commiting crime??Then all they would have to worry about is dna i guess?lol!I'd appreciate anyone clearing this one up.Thanks!
