What are RATIONAL reasons to support Obama for President?
First, I don't particularly support Obama so much as I oppose the current Republican agenda which McCain proposes to maintain. I also believe that in picking Palin as his running mate McCain displayed extremely bad judgment, and that his inability to maintain a consistent policy platform, as Obama has done, shows a marked lack of executive ability. It is a longstanding political truism that you can judge a candidates probable performance in office by how they run their campaign, and McCain's poll driven and erratic campaigning suggests a leadership style that we do not need in the White House at a time when we face a major economic crisis at home and a potentially disastrous situation overseas. McCain is trying to run as if it was still 2000, it's not, and this, not Obama's rhetorical skills and charisma, are what is working against him.
