Alveopora, just like Gonipora and other related corals, are very difficult to keep alive in captivity. There may not actually be anything wrong with the coral, but rather you not being able to provide conditions for it to survive. Unfortunately, it's not yet known why these corals do poorly in captivity, but until we find out, it's best to leave them on the reef, or in large full reef setups where the correct conditions have the chance to be present.
