Who do you predict for 2009 Stanley Cup Champions?
I say the Buffalo Sabres will make the playoffs this year. They will take on the Ottawa Senators in the Eastern quarterfinals and defeat them only to then again defeat a rival, this time the Toronto Maple Leafs. The big suprise will be when the Sabres take on the Philadelphia Flyers, who defeated them in the 1975 Stanley Cup Finals before the NHL expansion. They will defeat them in game 7 in overtime as they win it 4-3. Then they will take on another team who defeated them in the Stanley Cup Finals, this time the 1996-97 Stanley Cup Champs, otherwise known as the Dallas Stars. Jason Pominville will get the last goal at 15:36 in the third period of game five, making it 4-2 Buffalo as Buffalo wins the series 4-1. The red carpet will then be rolled out onto the ice for the ceremonial Stanley Cup hoisting. This will give Buffalo another thing to celebrate after the Buffalo Bills defeated the Washington Redskins 30-24 after Trent Edwards received the touchdown p from Roscoe Parrish in overtime at Superbowl 43.
