Would the western world be improved if there were more compulsory religious involvement?
If children were forced to attend church, and places of employment had to offer religious teaching (possibly with government financial incentives). If it became socially unacceptable not to attend church and if ones employment, or at least ones prospects depended on attendance would it make for a more happier and contented poulation? If, say 90% of the population attended church, doffed their hat or bowed a little when in the presence of the local clergy and if 80% went just because they either had to or their livelihood depended on it, but didn't believe in it; who would be most contented, the religious zealots or God?
