1987 VW Vanogan ignition problem?

I got something stuck in the keyhole (don't ask). I need to replace the ignition lock and I can't get it out of the ignition housing (I removed the entire housing from the steering column), but I am having trouble doing that. Any suggestions? Maybe a diagram of the system or a link where I can find one?
